ADULT SERVICES | Dialectical Behavior Therapy
DBT is a type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that focuses primarily on effectively managing difficult emotional states. This may include intense episodes of mood swings related to depression, anxiety, behavioral impulsivity and a history of trauma that are not easily managed through traditional therapies and medication.
The therapists that participate in this treatment are formally trained in methods of DBT and work together as a team to provide effective assessments, treatment planning, and interventions. The full program consists of Individual and Group Therapy weekly for a commitment of 6-12 months.
DBT is an effective treatment for many disorders but not for all. The evaluation process takes place over 4 sessions in order to ensure that the program will be an effective treatment for your symptoms.
Tamara Atkinson, LPC and Laurie Sargent, LPC conduct DBT intakes.
